Campaign Log

Session 1

Armasse, once a celebration of the god Aroden before his death, is still an important holiday to the followers of Iomedae. This means, of course, that it's important to the people of Kenabres. Followers of Iomedae use this week-long holiday to train commoners in combat, ordain apprentice clergy, pick squires for knights, and teach military history. Those who are not so devout use is as an excuse to party.

At the beginning of Prelate Hulrun's speech, the city was attacked by Khorramzadeh the Storm King, a balor and general of the Abyssal armies. The Kite was destroyed and Terendelev, the Empyreal Dragon defender of Kenabres was slain. A rift in the ground swallowed the party, dropping them into caves beneath the city.

With Anevia, Aravashnial, and Horgus, the party made their way through the tunnels in an attempt to get back to the surface and fight back against the demonic menace. First, they purged a great evil from within an underground temple of Torag, who bestowed his blessing upon the party. After that, they had to defend themselves against a mad dwarven wizard, slaying him in the process.

Eventually, they came across a shrine to the First Crusaders, built by their deformed descendants. Just beyond the shrine, they found a collapsed tower and several of those descendants. After freeing one from the rubble, Lann - one of the mongrels - offered to lead the party to their underground village and help them find their way to the surface.

Session 2

Lann led the party to Neathholm, a city of mongrels beneath the surface. Once there, they were introduced to Chief Sull, who sent out scouts to find a way to the surface. The next day, it was discovered that the only way back was through a lair of evil mongrels.

Heading out with Lann and Blob as guides, they party fought their way through, discovering the lair teeming with cultists led by a woman named Hosilla. In Hosilla's belongings, the party found the legendary sword, Radiance, which once belonged to the Crusader Yaniel.

After making it to the surface, the party failed to save a little girl who was preparing to be sacrificed by cultists. They did manage to slay the cultists and the girl's soul in the process, however.

Arriving at the Blackwing Library, it was discovered that a cultist had attacked and bound the librarians, forcing one of them to pile books to light the place on fire. The plot was foiled and the librarians saved.
